Tips for Guarding Against Scams
Research Sellers: Before you buy, check with the group to see if anyone has ever purchased from the seller and if the transaction went smoothly. Search for posts associated with the seller for signs of suspicious activity. Posts found related to scam would be meaningful if any potential risk existed.
As always, ask for a screenshot — the product proof. Ask (if needed) a video from the seller of the product functioning, (example, from their product dashboard, or subscription page).
Stick to PayPal Invoice: Always ask for a PayPal invoice. You should never send money as a “friend” or make other unprotected payments. And unlike other marketplace payment solutions, PayPal provides buyer protection for six months after your transaction. So if you absolutely feel secure in the option, try not to go for alternate payment methods.
Seller’s Obligation: Immediately following payment, the seller is required to update the product credentials.
Allow Resolution Time: Give the seller time to address any issues that may come up. Keep in mind that different time zones may exist.
Report Suspicious Activity: If you think there may be a scam going on, make a post in the group with convincing proof and tag the buyer or seller. Let them describe the circumstances. Refrain from making distinct posts or bombarding the group with irrelevant material. Organize conversations.
Respect Group Guidelines: Refrain from spamming or being disrespectful to admins. Everyone’s time is valuable.
Fair Pricing: Don’t expect products to be sold at below-market prices. Be aware that products may increase in value over time, especially if they have seen significant development. Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true, as they may be scams.
Product Changes: Sellers are not responsible for changes made by the product’s founder, such as price increases or feature adjustments.
